monkey

This first image is completely inspired by one that I saw taken by a very talented photographer on Clickin'Moms (an amazing forum and community of photographers, aspiring photographers, and moms who just love to take great pictures of their kids!). The original photo had sweet little feet, sweet little toes ... to me it looked like the mom had caught her little guy in a quiet, calm moment of curiosity. (I imagined light, tinkly music in the background.) Since Collin rarely tries to climb up on the counter, I was excited to see this today as I thought of the original image and quickly grabbed my camera....

However, quiet and calm? Not in our house. Less than a second later, Collin had moved onto to this... (Imagine high-pitched shrieks of toddler joy and mischief in the background.)

collin & i have been having fun making our own popsicles with this very cool popsicle-making-machine. here is a little bit of strawberry-banana bliss.

also, i am still finding surprise blooms in our yard. we almost dug these plants up last year because they weren't showing any signs of life. it is amazing what a difference that some pruning, weed-pulling, and a year later can make!

thoughtful

I am trying to practice a little bit of what I am learning about lighting with a little bit of what I am learning about black & white. I can't claim to know what I am doing yet, but I do really like this picture.

cranky

unfortunately, is the only way to describe the first few minutes after his nap... until he gets his milk, and watches a little bit of curious george...
then we can all take a deep breath, and go on with the day.
