farmers market, househunting & a boyfriend for genie bear

the bupper is having a great weekend so far!! friday morning (after drenching collin in spf70) he & i took genie for a long walk, and then checked out the conshohocken farmers market. we love farmers markets!! we bought basil & thyme plants and fresh-baked cookies ... {the experience was a wee bit ruined later that afternoon when i was having my (third) cookie, and noticed it was a little bit hairy. ahh!! i tried to brush it off and tell myself that it was a genie-hair, but it was definitely baked in. eww! i could only picture the beard of the man who sold it to me. blach, gross, gag!) anyways, earlier in the week i had bought a big picnic blanket and bubbles, and tried to take collin to a local park, but he fell asleep by the time we got there. i tried again on friday but he crashed out again, so i decided to just drive through neighborhoods instead. but aside from the untimely nap, friday was exactly the kind of day that i soooo looked forward to when i decided not to work - taking advantage of summer with my baby -- perfect!!

we looked at a few more houses today, and found some great neighborhoods and great houses!! but why is there always a BUT...??? one didn't have a garage, one didn't have a basement and one seriously had a different color hardwood floor in each room of the house (why???) househunting is exhausting!! so we took our sleeping baby to a nice dinner with wine to decompress. (our sleeping baby of course woke up right after we ordered, as usual!)

back at the apartment, genie had a great morning. there is a trail across from our apartment that follows the train tracks into the city, but they just finished paving a trail behind our building that follows the river. so early this morning we walked it and .... ran into a mr. pekignese!! i spotted him about a mile away, and they totally hit it off!! well, in a typical i'll-sniff-you-but-then-ignore-you-because-i-think-i'm-better-than-you pekignese fashion. but underneath the attitude, we know genie loved her new man. we can't wait to run into him again!! the trail was super dirty, so genie got her second bath this week when we got home. but later we found out that our apartment building is creating a park by the river later this month. we will get to use our blanket and bubbles after all!!! (we also learned that they are putting in a coffee shop in the elevator lobby next to our parking lot - small victory for jason, he is thrilled :) ).
